We have had alot of questions about how to pack food for the balanced day model. So on this page we will give you some tips, and recipes to make packing that lunch bag a little easier.
The most important thing to think about when packing the lunch bag is that there are 2 nutrition breaks in the day. One in the morning, and one at 12:40pm. It is important to pack enough food to last your child through the day. A good way to look at it is pack a "breakfast" and a "Lunch" . It would be helpful for your children if you packed the "meals" in seperate containers marked 1 or 2 , AM or PM. This way it will help the children learn what to eat at what time. I have also seen a balanced day lunch box at boomerang kids, and belly laughs in Kanata. It has two sides marked either 1 or 2 on it, I have put the photo below!
