We had an exciting day of presentations today in SK-C! We have been discussing different parts of stories in detail since the March Break as a class and today the students had a chance to show off all of their amazing story knowledge! We read "The Very Lonely Firefly" as a class, following which they broke off into small groups to work on different aspects of the story. We worked on the title and author, characters, problem and solution. After preparing a poster the students presented them to the rest of the class! We will be doing this with a few more books over the next few weeks! At home, encourage them to identify these parts of stories in books you read! Our next step will be making a personal connection to the story. The story (or a part of the story) could remind them of something they have seen before, a different story they have read, a movie they have seen, etc!
